I am very passionate about baking and have thought about opening up a blog about it for a while now. But I have never had enough time to do it. And I was too scared because I didn't know where to start. For the past few weeks, I have been stuck at home because of the lockdown which means I finally have the time I always wanted to invest in my hobbies. Since I have been baking a lot during the lockdown, I decided to finally start a blog about it to share my journey with you. As I am on a social media cleanse at the moment, I did not feel like opening up an Instagram or Facebook page about it at the moment. Then, one of my friends told me about how she was building a website online and suggested I should try it too. Inspired by her idea, I decided to go old school about it and opened up a good ol' fashioned website. Fast forward to three days later, and here I am- writing my first ever post on my first ever blog. So welcome everyone, to Sweet Nothings!
The other day, I was looking through my Pinterest Feed like I do most days when I wake up now, in hopes that the pretty fonts and aesthetic lifestyle posts would somehow magically motivate me to get out of bed and get my life in order. Then suddenly, a post about baking caught my eye. It was called "15 Baking Projects for When You're Stuck at Home" by Hayley Sugg on Allrecipes.com.
This seemed like the perfect challenge for me to take right now because a), I was in fact stuck at home at the moment; b), 15 seemed like a reasonable amount of projects to get through, for a lazy ass like me and c), all the recipes were of things that I have wanted to try baking for a long time but never had enough time to do it -until now. And to keep myself motivated and accountable to get through all the recipes and also, to have a sense of connection to the outer world in this lockdown, I decided to make this challenge the first thing I post about on this blog.
Over the next couple of days, I will be trying out the 15 recipes from Allrecipes.com ,which includes baking macarons, croissants, baklava etc. Like I said, I am just an amateur baker who is still learning so I am expecting there to be many fails along the way, but I am hoping that is what will help me hone my baking skills and push me out of my comfort zone. So, please cut me a bit of slack and settle down for this sweet sweet ride with me! And, wish me luck because I will be needing lots of it! Thank you!
How exciting!!!!! 💖
Wow I can't wait to see your baking journey!! ❤️
